Okay, it’s not the Superbowl, Wembley, or Carnegie Hall, so it shouldn’t take much to turn your space into an epic and atmospheric Taylorsphere. 

Cheap decoration trick – If you have a collection of Taylor albums or vinyls, why not use them to decorate your space, too!

Let’s set the ambience, clue by clue

Each clue in the Taylor Escape Room is themed around one of her albums. For those who want to go the extra mile, you can set up a section of your room or game space to complement each clue. Try decorating with some posters of your favourite images or album covers.

• Colour Schemes: Incorporate pastel hues and soft colours reminiscent of Taylor's ‘Lover’ era juxtaposed with atmospheric dark purple hues and moody nocturnal tones for Midnights! Decorate with full vibrant oranges or cool, sparkly mints for The Life of a Showgirl.

• Extras: Being extra is never messy– if you happen to have a guitar or a couple of cats lying about, make them part of the space (ask the cats nicely, they may decide a Taylor Swift party is not for them, and as otherworldly beings of superior quality, they are well within their rights to refuse the gig.)

Cook Up Some Swift Snacks

If you can cook, amazing! We’ve found some recipes that are sure to be Taylor approved. This Cinnamon Sourdough Recipe from A Paige of Positivity has us salivating. 

 

A sourdough recipe, specifically cinnamon swirl, that makes the best toast with butter and flaky sea salt with a chai latte on a Sunday morning or instead, a midnight snack.

Food & Snacks

• Mini sandwiches: Think afternoon tea. After all, Taylor spent long days in Shoreditch in the afternoon and must have enjoyed a finger sandwich or two. Fill with anything from jam to salmon and cream cheese, and use cookie cutters in hearts and stars. Win!
• Cupcakes: always a good shout! Who doesn’t love cupcakes? You can even choose gluten-free if there are any food intolerances among your party. The great thing about cupcakes is that you can slap a topper on, and they’ll fit right into any theme. We thought these snazzy Eras Tour Toppers on Etsy were just charming!

Drinks

If you’re getting your alcohol on, we’ve heard Taylor likes her whisky sour… you’ll want to conjure up a cocktail or two for your Taylor Swift party. Here’s our favourite iconic recipe for the best whisky sour:

I Like My Whisky Sour 

The Golden Ratio (2:1:1)

• 60ml (2 oz) Whisky (the best whisky is Scottish– we like Dewar’s)
• 30ml (1 oz) Fresh Lemon Juice (never bottled)
• 30ml (1 oz) Simple Syrup (1:1 ratio of sugar and water)
• 15ml (1/2 oz) Egg White (for foam, for a veggie version use aquafaba)
• 2-3 Dashes Angostura Bitters (for garnish/scent)
